So, what do you do if you have a degree in Fine Arts, Anthropology and Interior Design; love mixing knowledge of culture, art and space; have a penchant for thinking three dimensionally and enjoy working with your hands?

You buy a 1906 foreclosure home, strip it down to the studs and then rebuild it… of course!

When Elsy Studios Associate Brie Bane isn’t working on her own remodeling projects, her life is a collage of professional pursuits, volunteerism and adventure. Since joining Elsy in 2012, Brie has played an integral role in designing for and managing projects such as SolidFire, Barco Media, Workplace Resource, as well as a number of residential projects.

Continuing Education: Brie just finished renewing her LEED Green Associate (GA) certification. The GA certification positions her as a leader and active participant in the green building movement. She is currently working on the beginning phases of Elsy Studios’ first ‘official’ LEED project (stay tuned for details about Elsy’s work on this exciting project!)

Industry Kudos: Brie was recognized as an Emerging Designer in 2012 and was featured, along with Cathy Loftus and Lynn Coit, in the Interior Design Best of Office Book 2012.

Volunteerism: Brie has served on the board and several committees for the International Interior Design Association Rocky Mountain Chapter in Denver for the past five years. The group helps designers continue their education, give back to the community and network with other designers in an interactive, fun way.

Brie is also served for the last five years as a mentor with Denver Urban Scholars, working with a young lady who recently started college at CU Denver. Brie proudly adds that her mentee is the first in her family to go to college.

Extracurricular: Brie draws much of her creative vision from traveling. An adventurer by nature, she has been around the world, including a stint living in Australia, and has even gone skydiving in South Africa.

She is currently training for a 100-mile bike ride in August and enjoys mountain-biking with her husband, ‘glamping’ (glamorous camping), skiing, traveling, playing volleyball, painting, walking her pup, and having a glass of red wine with her sister.

As you can see, Brie not only works hard, she plays hard. She is an inspiration to the Elsy Studio team and we cannot wait to see what she does with future projects.
