We’d like to introduce you to Carmen Schechinger. She has been with Elsy Studios since day one and her hard work and design talent have paid off big time. She was recently promoted from interior designer to project manager.

Here’s a little more about Carmen:

Background: In 2015 she managed a project for Capital Value Advisors alongside Elsy President and Founder, Lynn Coit. Industry peers from the American Society of Interior Designers recognized the project by awarding Elsy Studios the Custom Design Element Award. Prior her work at Elsy, Carmen was an interior designer at Box Studio where she was involved in a two-year campus wide renovation for large engineering company CH2M.

Continuing Education: Carmen is always looking to improve her design knowledge and project management skills. One of her personal goals since graduating with a degree in Interior Design is to become NCIDQ certified (National Council for Interior Design Qualification). She is currently studying to take her NCIDQ exams this year.

“Being NCIDQ certified is one way of proving my knowledge and experience in protecting the health, safety, and welfare of public spaces,” Carmen said. “Even studying for this qualification has already made me more knowledgeable in my day-to-day tasks! It’s making me more of a well-rounded designer and assisting in my project management tasks.”

Interests:  Carmen is passionate about women-driven organizations. She enjoys attending events that support women in the workforce and leadership organizations that help women gain confidence in the workplace. One local organization she is partial to is Women In Design, where she has held a leadership role in the past.

Activities: Outside of the office, Carmen enjoys an active lifestyle. She has been known to participate in fitness challenges and triathlons, as well as activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, and snowboarding.
