Mark loves to design workspaces that are engaging and have visual interest. He believes that the best design doesn’t always have to be a grand stair case or ego driven by a designer. The best design is thoughtful; it means taking the extra time to understand how your client’s employees are using their existing space and if there are opportunities for a great design idea, to maximize efficiency, or a more optimal use of space. Mark’s vast product knowledge and thorough attention to detail are just a few of the traits that make him so successful in his role as senior project manager at Elsy Studios.

Here is a little more about Mark:

Why Elsy: Mark and Lynn go way back. The two met at Mississippi State University where they both earned bachelor degrees in architecture. Years later, after they both had established careers in the field, Lynn recruited Mark as Elsy began to grow.

Background: Prior to joining Elsy Studios, Mark was The Studio Manager of Interiors for Ware Malcomb, and the principal of his own firm, Mark Cheeks Interiors, LLC. This experience not only made him a great project manager, it gave him firsthand knowledge of the pressures that come with running a business – knowledge he translates into providing a smooth and stress-free experience for our clients.

Continuing Education: Mark is currently completing his architectural licensing exams.

His Inspiration: “I draw inspiration from the people around me and the ever-changing design industry. I’m constantly seeking new knowledge from magazines, books, my colleagues, and other industry experts that will fuel my ability to serve my clients and produce successful projects from beginning to end.”
