Everything is Bigger in Texas

When Jerry Built approached us with the notion for a better burger joint, the concept was simple: people need to know there’s MEAT in that building. Subtlety was not an option. So we boldly sliced a glowing 30-foot bull through the structure, creating a stunning visual impact. In order to provide the transparency the owners sought, the kitchen is fully in view from the seating area, allowing patrons to follow the preparation process. Each restaurant includes a mural-sized collage of community images commissioned for that locale.

A deeper message about the owners values is carried in the interior and exterior finishes. Much of the wood accents are made from ‘beetle-kill’ trees and the building cladding is covered in live plantings appropriate for the geography. Following the initial flagship design, our working relationship continued with Jerry Built, resulting in design work for four additional locations.
